A patient buddy for your salah.

Salah Buddy isn’t a basic reminder app. It’s a kind, patient friend who checks in across Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha — listens when life gets in the way, and meets you where you are. Right inside the app you already use.

Salah Buddy · online
  1. Maghrib’s almost in. Want me to check in once you’re done? 🤍
  2. in a meeting, should be done in 20 minutes
  3. Of course. I’ll come back at 6:50, no rush.
  4. prayed 🤍
  5. Lovely. Catch you at Isha.
Example chat: Salah Buddy asks if the user wants a check-in for Maghrib. The user replies that they're in a meeting and will be done in twenty minutes. Salah Buddy adapts and offers to come back at 6:50. The user later confirms they prayed. Salah Buddy signs off until Isha.

Built around your day

It knows your day, so it can have a real conversation about it.

Salah Buddy doesn’t just nudge once. It knows the full window of every prayer in your timezone — so when you say “in a meeting, give me 20 minutes,” it can do the math and come back at the right moment, never past the window.

Travel, daylight saving, Ramadan — your schedule moves with you. Pick your calculation method and madhab right inside the chat; defaults are sensible, change them when you’re ready.

How it works

Three small steps. No setup, no friction.

Salah Buddy lives inside the messaging app you already open all day — no new app to download, no account to manage.

  1. Open Telegram

Tap Start in the bot. That’s the whole sign-up — no app, no account, no email.

  2. Share your location once

We use it locally to compute your prayer times — never logged, never shared.

  3. Get a kind nudge

A short check-in when each prayer comes in. Snooze, reschedule, or just say you’re done — it gets it.

Features

A buddy, not a beeper.

Small, useful things that make staying on top of salah feel like chatting with a friend.

  • Talks with you, not at you

Tell it "in a meeting" or "just running late" — it gets it. Ask a question, get a real answer. No menus, no scripts, no lectures.

  • Works around your day

Push a reminder, skip one without explaining yourself, or pause everything for a while. Salah Buddy fits your day, not the other way around.

  • Accurate prayer times

Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha — computed locally with the open-source adhan library. Pick from common calculation methods and madhabs.

  • On the apps you already use

Telegram is live now. iMessage and WhatsApp are coming — same gentle voice, wherever you chat.

Different on purpose

Built to listen first.

Most habit apps tell you what to do, then count when you don’t. Salah Buddy is built the other way around — to listen first, then meet you where you are. Your salah is yours, not ours; we’re just here to make it a little easier, with the same patience a good friend would have.

No streaks.
You’re not a numbers game. Missing a prayer doesn’t reset anything because nothing is being counted against you.
No shame.
Reschedule, snooze, or skip one. The bot won’t guilt-trip you, won’t lecture you, and won’t bring it up next time.
No sermons.
No scripture quotes, no scholarly claims, no opinions about how you should pray. Just a friendly nudge at the right time.
No data sold.
No analytics on the website, no third-party trackers, no ads. The only people who see your conversations are you and the bot.

FAQ

A few things people ask first.

  • Is it really conversational, or just a fancy reminder?

It’s the real thing. Push back a check-in, change your calculation method, ask for fewer reminders, or just chat about your day — type it and Salah Buddy understands. The whole point is that you don’t need to learn any commands.

  • Will it spam me?

One nudge per prayer, never in group chats. You can pause reminders any time, skip a single prayer, or change the offset window with a quick message.

  • What about iMessage or WhatsApp?

SMS is coming first — that gets us to anyone with a US phone, no chat app needed. iMessage and WhatsApp are still on the roadmap behind that, no date set.
